Contemporary Culture : Creating A Performance Culture
|
| on 2010/5/6 21:40:00 (111 reads) |
(Reriani Communications)--- This article is an excerpt from Charles L. Gruner’s upcoming book, Turning Losers into Winners: People and Companies, based on his 20-plus years as a corporate turnaround specialist.
Creating a culture that is performance driven requires focused leadership with a strategy and a process. The strategy must be centered on the accomplishment of critical objectives. These objectives are defined as being those objectives that will yield the largest short term impact, while achieving the longer term strategic goals of the company. Management often develops plans with specific operational and strategic objectives such as reducing inventory by 20%, growing market share by 50% or increasing gross margins by 20%, all over a defined time period. The failure to achieve these objectives occurs because these goals are not driven down to the individual business unit managers and the individual contributors charged with making these goals a reality. Everyone in a company must own a piece of the overall goals of the company. What gets lost is: The translation of the business plan to everyone in the company. Development of business unit goals for disciplines such as manufacturing, sales, engineering and finance so that everyone will own and contribute to the overall success. Tracking and management of performance toward achievement of the goals at the business unit and individual contributor level.

Contemporary Culture : Glow-in-the-Dark Radio Comics Releases "Vatican Assassin" 2
|
| on 2010/4/27 11:00:00 (115 reads) |
(Reriani Communications)--- Vatican Assassin: Bernard Campion - BC - is the Pope's man. Under papal orders, he's just assassinated the governor of an independent city state. All around him a religious war rages. A medieval tale of holy intrigue? Hardly. It's the year 2109, and BC has just eliminated Meredith McEntyre, the Governor of Lunar Prime, the main city on the Moon. Can BC get away with murder?
The science fiction comic book adventure continues in Vatican Assassin #2, with art by Cristian Navarro and story and lettering by Mike Luoma, who is adapting his science fiction novel Vatican Assassin. "I'm trying to tell this story in different ways, to reach different audiences," Luoma said. In addition to paperback sales, Vatican Assassin has enjoyed success as an audiobook at Podiobooks.com, where chapters have been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times.
"I try to think of myself as a storyteller, not just a novelist," Luoma said. "Cristian is helping me tell the story in a new way, faithful to the novel, but not the same." Luoma raved about Navarro's depiction of the characters and setting. "I love the cinematic angles he uses. Makes me think it would be fun to tell this story as a movie someday!"Glow-in-the-Dark Radio Comics releases Vatican Assassin #2 this Wednesday, April 28th. Given Luoma's intent to get the story out in multiple ways, it's not surprising that Vatican Assassin #2 is being released in a number of different formats. "You can read it for free online, hosted at DrunkDuck.com. Chunks of pages, groups of two and three, will come out every Wednesday and Saturday through May," the writer said. "It's also on sale for ninety-nine cents for the Kindle, at Amazon.com, and in other digital formats at ComicsXP.com. And you can get the good old-fashioned print versions online at IndyPlanet.com."

Contemporary Culture : Celebrating Japanese cherry blossoms in Toronto
|
| on 2010/4/20 7:30:00 (133 reads) |
(Reriani Communications)--- In Japan, cherry blossoms are called sakura (桜), and the delicate and ephemeral blossoms are said to remind the Japanese that life is short, and already over before we really understand that it has begun.
Only just have we passed mid-April, and the Japanese cherry blossom trees in Toronto's High Park, a gift from the city of Tokyo, were already in full bloom. They were hard to miss, even though the crowds attracted to the ephemeral delicate blossoms may have been in greater numbers than the flowers themselves.
In years past, the cherry blossom trees were mainly popular with the small and diverse Japanese community in Toronto, but it seems that the blossoming cherry trees are becoming ever more popular with those of us who do not ordinarily sing "Sakura, sakura" at this time of the year.

|
| on 2010/4/17 13:40:00 (129 reads) |
(Reriani Communications)--- Chitresh Das Dance Company and Chhandam School of Kathak are pleased to present emerging soloist Rina Mehta, member of Chitresh Das Dance Company and disciple of internationally renowned Kathak master and guru Pandit Chitresh Das, in a debut Traditional Kathak Solo.
Mehta will give a performance of lighting fast footwork and pirouettes, rhythmic interplay, and nuanced, graceful movements that is characteristic of Kathak dance on Sunday, May 16 at 6 pm at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre in Hollywood. No Kathak performance is complete without the rendition of a story, and Mehta, true to tradition, brings to life the ancient myths of India - the sensual love between Lord Krishna and Radha or the wrath of Lord Indra, god of rain and thunder. Amidst the rendering of the traditional aspects of Kathak, Mehta will highlight Kathak Yoga - a ground-breaking innovation that highlights the sophisticated mathematics involved in Indian classical dance.
Mehta's performance will be accompanied by some of India's finest classical musicians, including Sri Abhijit Banerjee on tabla, Sri Jayanta Banerjee on sitar and Sri Debashish Sarkar on vocals. The performance opens with a special tabla solo by esteemed percussionist and musician, Sri Abhijit Banerjee.

Contemporary Culture : Chinese New Year Show Opens Window on Asian Subtlety
|
| on 2010/4/6 8:50:00 (116 reads) |
(Reriani Communications)--- Asian-themed performances like NTDTV's Chinese New Year Spectacular offer an entirely new experience for many Westerners, partly because they are so different from the more typical, narrative-driven, performing art forms. They ask something different from the audience - a slight shift in expectations, a shift in sensibility.
The appreciation for what is implied rather than what is in plain sight sets Asian art apart from Western art. Traditional Chinese dance, for example, is less precise and strict in form than its Western counterpart, ballet. It is because it attempts to evoke a different sort of feeling. Like a glass of claret with its subtle undertones, this kind of dance leaves room for the imagination while leaving a lasting impression.
The following story may help shed some light on the mystery:
Once there was an art dealer who had a painting that depicted a young farm boy leading a horse across a bridge. The boy was facing the horse, his body leaning back, and he looked like he was exerting great effort. One day a buyer came in and had to have this painting. However, he didn't have enough money on him to buy this rather expensive artwork right away. So he asked the dealer to hold the painting for him while he went home to get the funds. As the seller took the painting down, he noticed it was missing the rope the boy should have been using to lead the horse. Without much thought, he picked up an ink brush and added a rope to fix this apparent flaw in the painting. When the buyer came back and saw the new rope, he was terribly upset. He told the dealer: "I was only willing to spend so much on this painting because of the rope that wasn't seen but could still be felt!"

Contemporary Culture : Eliminate Credit Card Bills - How To Legally Never Pay Back Credit Card Bills
|
| on 2009/9/21 11:08:59 (229 reads) |
(Reriani Communications)--- The general perception is that it is illegal not to pay debts that one has taken. However, this is not an absolute rule. There are ways to eliminate credit card bills without repaying them. The best part is that there are legal ways to eliminate bills for credit cards in a short period of time.
You cannot eliminate credit card bills without negotiating with your credit card issuer. Rather than taking on the task of negotiations yourself, it is better to hand it over to professional settlement companies for debt. There are many misconceptions about debt settlement companies amongst the masses. Some are of the opinion that all debt settlement companies are fraudulent scam companies. There are many who acknowledge that debt settlement companies provide good service but feel that they are of no use when one wants to eliminate bills for credit cards.

Contemporary Culture : Why Parents Don’t Want Obama to Address their Children
|
| on 2009/9/17 4:00:00 (260 reads) |
(Reriani Communications)--- Barack Obama’s plan to address school children between K and grade 12 has raised a furor among millions of parents in the nation. But so far the only reason given for the stir it has caused is that Americans don’t want politics in the classroom. Are there other reasons and what are they?
Reactions run the gamut but more typically hang on the one of two poles. Those against it generally agree it is not very timely in the light of recent controversies over health care. Those who think it’s as normal as apple pie say it is about staying in school and the promise of what a better education affords. Both of these answers are but the tip of the iceberg.
The typical reaction across the board is like the one found in Mercury News September 04, 2009. “"As far as I am concerned, this is not civics education — it gives the appearance of creating a cult of personality," said Oklahoma State Sen. Steve Russell, also a Republican.”This is something you'd expect to see in North Korea or in Saddam Hussein's Iraq."

Contemporary Culture : Credit Card Debt - How To Eliminate Credit Card Debt With Government Help
|
| on 2009/9/12 0:50:00 (509 reads) |
(Reriani Communications)--- Credit card debt is easy to accumulate and thanks to the recession and government stimulus money it has become easy to eliminate. If you are over $10,000 in unsecured debt it would be financially prudent to hire a debt settlement company that will be able to eliminate at least 50% of your unsecured debt. Credit card debt is the most common form of unsecured debt and is the easiest to eliminate. President Obama's financial stimulus money has given creditors much more flexibility when it comes to negotiating a debt settlement. This stimulus money along with a very uncertain credit market, has led to debt settlements becoming more popular than ever. It would be wise of you to look into a debt settlement while the conditions are so favorable and while the government stimulus money is still in circulation.
The financial forecast is cloudy at best. The effects of the stimulus bills have yet to be fully realized and with so many people currently in debt, creditors of unsecured debt are making very generous deals. They realize that if a consumer defaults on their credit card debt they are left with basically nothing. With delinquent accounts rising at alarming rates, creditors are cutting very generous deals in order to recoup at least part of their money.

This 60% average was closer to 35% just a year ago but thanks to the recession and massive government stimulus bills, debt settlements are more favorable than ever. This article will teach consumers how to eliminate 60% of their unsecured debt while minimizing the effect on their credit scores.

Contemporary Culture : Debt Settlements - How To Find The Best Debt Settlement Companies
|
| on 2009/9/10 4:50:00 (217 reads) |
(Reriani Communications)--- If you are considering a debt settlement then you would obviously like to find the best debt settlement companies on the market. Not all debt companies are equal and some can actually end up causing more financial trouble. That's why it is critical that consumers know how to identify the most legitimate debt companies on the market. There are certain characteristics you should look for and questions you should ask a debt company to find the best ones. This article should prepare you to do just that and should increase your chances of getting the best settlement.
The first thing that you should clarify is whether or not the debt company is a member of The Association Of Settlement Companies. TASC is the watchdog in the debt settlement industry and qualifies companies based on their performance stats and ethical standards. All legitimate companies will be a part of this accredited organization and if they are not I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Contemporary Culture : Arab Identity and National Liberation
|
| on 2009/7/12 4:34:05 (193 reads) |
(Reriani Communications)--- An Arab is a person who belongs to the Arab culture or has Arab cultural origins. The Arab identity is not linked to an ethnicity, religion, political stand, or ideology, and it does not depend on changing political circumstances.
Adhering to pan-Arabism means belonging to one nation with a common language and culture, and a shared history on a shared land. This nation also shares the same interests and destiny, which may, in the future, take the shape of a federation or an integration of its countries.
The Arab identity as a language and culture existed before Islam, but it was confined to Arab tribes that shared certain geographic boundaries.
Before Islam, pan-Arabism meant the Arabic language and culture, but it began to become a civilization and a cultural identity and allegiance with the birth of Islam and its strong connection with the Arabic language, the language of the Quran, and the spread of Islam by Arab pioneers.

Contemporary Culture : Happy Fathers Day to Time, Chance and Random Gases
|
| on 2009/6/22 4:50:00 (180 reads) |
(Reriani Communications)--- The first father’s day is said to have been celebrated on June 5, 1908. The first time the day was noted was in a Methodist church in Fairmount, West Virginia. It is among one of America’s most unusual observations today more than ever before because in the U.S. one out of three children is said to be fatherless.
Every father’s day I remember the adage that says “Seeing a beautiful sunset is made much better when you know who to thank for it.” I always feel a bit sad when I think that millions of secularists don’t know who to thank. It always brings up the same question namely; who’s your daddy.
As father’s day approaches year by year we’re always thrust back into serious contemplation about our relationship with our fathers. That’s when I bring up one of my own pet theories about social science or what I call “The Father Search.” I don’t see any Nobel prizes coming my way for these musings but I’d be willing to bet that every human being on the planet is indeed in a search for their father. By now you already know I am not talking about the rare old man that you call dad.

(Reriani Communications)--- Though the economic recession may have left us, but the consumers are still lavish in their purchasing. What is the mentality of the consumer in the shadow of depression? Cheap price is must, novelty is a fundamental, but yet stylish and quality requirements are still needed. Fashion buyers must be looking for fair prices, fashion and high-quality products. However, to find products that meet these standards is so difficult in the market.
Sophia, the preventative of Electronics Wholesaler ePathChina (www.epathchina.com) expressed that: "We are just providing a point like that." ePathChina Ltd. is a specialized company that wholesale china electronics to worldwide.
There was a presumption that today's consumers tend to choose classic style series, but they are actually choose a soft spot for the new element - a unique product and design. Purchase decision is entirely up to its amazing index.
