Humor and Comic Books : Boris Acosta, Modern Renaissance Man, Fires up Production New Entertainment Projects Based on Dante Aligheri's Literary Masterpiece, The Divine Comedy
|
| on 2010/8/31 11:00:00 (38 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- Director Armand Mastroianni said: “I have been directing films since 1980 and during that time I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many interesting people, including Tom Hanks, all sharing the same desire to express their talent in some way. Only those individuals with great tenacity, perseverance and talent achieve that. I believe such an individual is Boris Acosta. It has been his dream to produce Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy into three live-action 3D films, Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. Boris Acosta gave me the script he was preparing for Dante’s Inferno as the first live-action feature. I was very impressed with the work, overall concept, and the idea of visually interpreting this epic poem. Boris’ passion to bring the second biggest Christian story to every home throughout the world is one I highly admire and thoroughly support. It is time for us to see his dream come true.”

Humor and Comic Books : How you can become a Magician?
|
| on 2010/5/25 23:20:00 (71 reads) |
(Reriani Communications)--- A person who has a good voice can participate in various competitions before becoming a seasoned singer. The same determination is also needed should one decide to become a magician. Xaviera Arata Editor of the Magic Tricks For Beginners website -- http://www.MagicTricksForBeginners.org -- pointed out;
“…In medieval times, magic was associated with sorcery and witchcraft. People who were known to posses these skills were considered as heretics and were burned at the stake…” Added Xaviera Arata
Years later that has changed and now magic provides people with various kinds of entertainment, e.g., watching the statue of liberty disappear with just a wink of an eye or putting a person in a box and piercing it with swords and the volunteer comes out unscathed. These are all illusions that have amazed the audience and makes these people come back for more. There have been a lot of talented magicians in this lifetime alone such as the likes of Harry Houdini who was an escaped artist, David Copperfield who has traveled around the world and amazed people with his large scale acts and lately David Blaine who is seen on television performing magic tricks for millions of viewers around the world.

Humor and Comic Books : Batman Edges out Superman for the All-Time Price Record for Comic Books
|
| on 2010/3/1 13:20:00 (97 reads) |
(Reriani Communications)--- Not even a recession could keep comic book buyers from taking advantage of two rare comic books offered for sale during the last week in February. The first issues of Superman and Batman comic books shattered the previous top-selling price record by selling at over three times the price of the previous record holder.
On February 22, the first Superman comic book, Action Comics #1, sold for $1,000,000 making it the first comic book to reach the million dollar threshold. Just three days later the first Batman comic book, Detective Comics #27, swept in to set a new comic book selling price record of $1,075,000. Both comic books had a certified grade of 8.0 on the CGC 10.0-point rating scale and are believed to the finest known specimens in existence of these rare comic books.
In 1938, Superman, the first modern comic book superhero, was introduced. One year later, Batman debuted. Both of these original issues sold for just ten cents each. “It’s hard to imagine that just over 70 years later, these historic comic books end up selling for over one million dollars,” comments Mike Todasco, founder of Sketch Maven, the World’s Greatest Original Comic Art Marketplace.

Humor and Comic Books : Edited Version of Band of Innocence Graphic Novel from Robert Agnello Released
|
| on 2010/1/31 9:00:00 (119 reads) |
(Reriani Communications)--- Robert Agnello, of On The Lamb Productions and Emmy Award Winning Carmen Sandiego music fame, has released an edited version of the graphic novel, "Band of Innocence.” Band of Innocence (BOI) was first released in March of 2009. BOI teaches a strong, important message to children and adults alike. Although originally geared toward children, ages 8 and up, it reaches beyond the barriers and draws in adults, as well.
Agnello explains the book, "The characters in the book are innocent of any pre-conceived notions. They don't judge, they act. There is no thought of physical violence since they believe everyone has a story and that that story can be changed. For example, the first episode is about endangered species. They save a baby white gorilla from a mean man who wants to hunt it down. They don’t just simply stop him but they change his attitude so that he is forever changed, not just stopped. They realize that they are able to change a person's thinking and therefore change their actions."

|
| on 2008/5/31 11:40:00 (272 reads) |
(Prudent Press agency) -- It can be confidently said that a vast majority of refrigerators here in America has at least two or more refrigerator magnets attached to them. Every single person I know has them, especially if there are kids in the household. Many special memories, achievements, notes, photos and other mementos have graced the refrigerator door and the refrigerator magnets are what keep them in place. All of them are a constant reminder o what binds the family together, special occasions that must always be remembered to symbolize the core of the family. Each piece that is brought upon on the refrigerator door represents a part of our lives. A school work, art work, scribbling by a kid is regarded as an important accomplishment when it is placed on the refrigerator, making the refrigerator a sort of a trophy case.

Humor and Comic Books : Sexist Humor No Laughing Matter, Psychologist Says
|
| on 2007/11/22 9:37:53 (439 reads) |
“Sexist humor is not simply benign amusement. It can affect men’s perceptions of their immediate social surroundings and allow them to feel comfortable with behavioral expressions of sexism without the fear of disapproval of their peers,” said Thomas E. Ford, a new faculty member in the psychology department at WCU. “Specifically, we propose that sexist humor acts as a ‘releaser’ of prejudice.”
In their research article*, Ford and the graduate student co-authors describe two research projects designed to test the theory that “disparagement humor” has negative social consequences and plays an important role in shaping social interaction.

Cardinals and smaller birds also search for food on the ground but the smaller ones mostly enjoy the feeders with their perches. We started throwing it on the ground to keep squirrels from eating the plastic off our original bird feeders. Now we have "squirrel proof" feeders that do a good job of keeping them from the food contained within.
