|
| on 2010/7/25 7:30:00 (82 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- "The C.H.A.M.P. Experiment" is a bi-weekly online show based on author Traci S. Campbell's successful book-and-workbook program, "The C.H.A.M.P. Within." The show, which is part documentary and part “reality television,” follows the efforts and challenges Traci and her team face as they bring the C.H.A.M.P. concept, designed to help with the emotional and mental challenges teens and single parents face daily, to various cities in the United States. At the same time, the show takes a candid look at the lives of selected teens and their families as they face personal challenges head-on by actively employing the C.H.A.M.P. system. As a reward for their efforts, Traci S. Campbell helps bring about a special dream for each teens and his or her family. Each season features new challenges for the C.H.A.M.P. team, new teens and families making an effort to change their lives for the better through C.H.A.M.P., and the realization of the participants’ dreams.
The buzz about this show is steadily growing. Several sponsors have jumped on board to support it, and the submissions of letters and emails from families wanting to participate in the project are numerous. "Dream boxes" have been placed all around the Houston area to collect the stories and dreams of teens who feel they and/or their family could benefit from the program and show. Parents have taken an especially keen interest in the show for its positive message of the pay-off of hard work and perseverance. Slated to premier in the fall of 2010, “The C.H.A.M.P. Experiment” will take a hard look at the issues plaguing teens and parents, with a special focus on single parents, in today's society: anger, violence, insecurity, depression, financial and peer pressures, and more. The book-and-workbook program, created by Traci S. Campbell, forms the basis for the show and help the families to change their current life situations.

Self-Improvement & Psychology : Tools to Quiet the Mind and Access the Heart
|
| on 2010/6/19 15:00:00 (77 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- As Life Coaches, we are trained to help our clients get in touch with their deepest desires and teach them how to manifest these desires in their everyday lives. To me, the first step in that process is moving the thinking mind out of the way in order to provide access to the heart. I believe this is where the deep seated blocks that keep our clients from moving forward are situated. There are typically many years or decades of walls that have to be broken down to reach this vulnerable portion of a client's heart and in turn, their heart's desire. Here are a few of the tools I have learned and put into practice on myself.
1. Meditation This is the most effective tool I have found to center me and shut out all the clutter in my mind. Music and earphones intensify this effect for me.

Self-Improvement & Psychology : Natural Abilities
|
| on 2010/6/18 17:40:00 (74 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- We all have natural abilities and talents that we are born with. It's very easy to detect musical or artistic talent when we are children and our parents can choose to ensure we get proper training to make the most of it. Academic ability, speech, athletic talent and writing genius are normally discovered when a child begins School and can be encouraged and trained as they progress. Mental abilities such as clairaudience, clairvoyance and clairsentience as well as empathic and healing talents are many times not discovered until later in life. With increased awareness now these abilities are being detected at an earlier age, however training in the use of these abilities is not always readily accessible and can be very expensive.
What's a person to do when they find themselves in this position? You can read everything you find about it from books or the Internet, but this could be more confusing than helpful. Even if you do happen to find someone to teach you, their abilities may not be the same as yours.

Self-Improvement & Psychology : Speed Reading Skills - Improving Reading Comprehension Skills
|
| on 2010/6/18 7:40:00 (71 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- There are so many ways on how to develop your speed reading skills. There are three important things that you have to learn; (1) you have to determine what you need to know from the text, (2) you must know how to study the material deeply, and (3) apply active reading. These three techniques mostly deal with the speed and comprehension. Improving reading comprehension skills is necessary because this is the main reason way you have to deal with the speed reading techniques. Let us discuss each of them so that you will have an idea how to start learning the techniques. First is determining what you need to know from the text. You have to know why you have to read the text. Do you read the text because there is a purpose behind it or you just read it for pleasure - for no reason at all. Once you know where you are heading, you have to evaluate the text. You have to apply skimming in this part. You need to know first whether the material will answer your questions. It would be useless of you read the entire text and at the end, you get nothing from it.
What are you going to do? Remember that speed reading skills are very critical and demanding. Take a look at the introduction and the chapters. You will see in the introduction the ideas that you will get in reading the book. The chapters will give you the outline of the entire structure of the text. After taking a look from each of them, ask yourself whether it satisfies your needs. Do you have to look for another book or this is the ideal one.

Self-Improvement & Psychology : Famous Quotes and Funny Phrases For Everyday Living
|
| on 2010/6/16 11:00:00 (77 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- My mother has a saying for everything. She got that from her mother. I'm not exactly sure how far back the tradition goes but the habit took a powerful hold on me at a very early age too, so I now can often be found reeling off a wise saying - or at least a wise crack - in any variety of circumstances, whether I've been invited to or not! (It's still open for debate as to whether I've inherited a blessing or a curse, here!) It never fails to amaze me how anyone within earshot of my mother always experiences a glazing over of the eyes while they ruminate on a curious phrase they've never heard before - only to find themselves snapping out of it in just in time to realize they've missed three more! She has become very well known for her frequent usage of the 'quaint old adages' her mother passed along to her - and you can trust me when I say, she throws plenty of her own around, too. All of those old expressions are golden and well worth passing on to the next generation. There's no denying that wisdom is truly ageless and my mother is living, breathing proof of that fact.
Our father was a bit more of an enigma to all of us. He was the strong, silent type, but you can be sure, everyone would sit up straight and listen really hard if he ever chose to speak. His words were few and simple, but always packed a wallop, so it was not uncommon to find yourself bleeding from your very soul for a while once he was through having a talk with you. I won't lie to you, the truth always stung but there was never any doubt in our minds that he loved us. His reassuring bear hugs always followed a brief reprimand and we knew his words were meant to guide and challenge us - not to confound or aggravate us. He never said very much - just enough to get us thinking about our infraction and inevitably, the solution for it. Which brings a good saying to mind - "We all have two ears and only one mouth for a reason!" Without actually saying it, the strongest message our father ever sent us was to "listen more and speak less." They say, "Silence is the fence around wisdom" and my father had wisdom in spades.

Self-Improvement & Psychology : Manifesting Abundance is a Load of Hooey - Prosperity Doesn't Come From Dreaming
|
| on 2010/6/15 17:40:00 (94 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- There's been a lot of talk recently about how manifesting abundance is enough to get you all the things that you want in life. The theory goes a little something like this. You're being held back by your mindset. Subconsciously, you are thinking things that are making you poor and if you suddenly turn your thinking around, you'll flip the switch and suddenly billions of dollars will start flowing to you without you even having to lift a finger. The key is that you have to really believe that you're changing. See yourself having all of the things you need and want. Feel what it feels like to not worry about money. Experience what it's really like.
I tried this the other day. The Power Ball jackpot was up over 200 million and I was sure that I was going to win it. I mean, I really felt it. I knew what it was like to look up the winning number and see mine. I was getting so excited thinking about how I would break the news to people that I was almost crying from the excitement. For good measure, I even tried thinking about how I would spend the money to help other people (Hey, that should help the universe give me the money, shouldn't it?). The day of the drawing came and went. I didn't win--someone else did. Why not? I didn't buy a ticket.

Self-Improvement & Psychology : Top 7 Reasons Your Dreams Haven't Come True
|
| on 2010/6/13 11:00:00 (66 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- Do you wish you could find a way for your dreams to come true? Have you previously found yourself giving up on your dreams, because they never come true anyway? Once you've read this article you'll hold the keys to make your dreams come true. As young children and even as we grow into adults we wish on shooting stars and birthday candles. Wishing for something is just a breath of air. It passes as soon as you get it out of your mouth. Dreaming for something is just a passing thought, gone with the next thing that pops into your head. If you said, "I want a BMW," or "I'd like to vacation in the Caribbean," do you think those things are just going to fall into your lap? If you do nothing more than wish for them they pass with the breath it took for you to say them. Just like the shooting star or the birthday candles, they burn out and are gone. Use the 7 keys below to unlock your dreams once and for all.
Think About It - Think about what it is that you want. Make sure when you think about it that there's not a negative feeling associated with it. This ensures it's truly a want. Plan It - Put a plan together that would make your dream come true. Write out a step-by-step plan for what it would take for you to get it. Imagine It - Imagine what it would be like to have it. Picture yourself already having it. Feel It - How would it make you feel to have it? Hold on to that feeling and use it to drive you towards your dreams. Embrace Failure - Where would we be today if Thomas Edison had stopped when he failed at developing the light bulb? Failure is only a lesson to be learned. Learn it and then get back up, dust yourself off and keep going. You never know when success lies just beyond the horizon. Set A Date - Now that you know what you want, you've written a plan for it and you've envisioned it, set a date for it to come true. This not only lets you know when it will happen, it also keeps you on the track to accomplishing your dreams. Create It - If you want to draw a picture of a vase of flowers you don't just sit at the table with the paper and think the picture will appear on the paper. Take daily action on your step-by-step plan and create the dreams you desire.

Self-Improvement & Psychology : Summertime is Perfect Time to Learn More About CPR and AEDs
|
| on 2010/6/12 20:50:00 (68 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- Amid summer months come a season of gift giving with weddings, graduations, birthdays and holidays leading to the thoughts of what to give that special person. The American Heart Association is calling on the community to think about giving the gift of life. “Gift giving can be a difficult task to many,” said Scott Mann MD, Medical Director of Emergency Services at Dupont Hospital, Medical Director at Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, and member of the American Heart Association’s Fort Wayne Board of Directors.
“Offering a CPR kit is not only a lifesaving gift for friends, families and neighbors, but a clever idea to the norm,” said Dr. Mann. Sudden cardiac arrest can strike anyone, anywhere. And when it does, a victim’s survival depends on the people around them. Skilled emergency personnel treat about 300,000 victims of out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrest in the United States, but more than 92 percent of people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die from it.

Self-Improvement & Psychology : Addictions To Work?
|
| on 2010/6/12 20:20:00 (61 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- Workaholic Who Loves Her Work? Do “good” workaholics figure out how to love their work so they can still work a lot? I think society defines a workaholic as someone who uses work as an addiction. And addictions are supposed to be about running away from feelings or dealing with feelings in an unhealthy manner. So what I am asking is – am I still a workaholic even though now I love my work?
Many years ago I was a financial planner/financial salesperson. I worked at that job addictively. I think the feeling I was running away from with that job was guilt for not working enough and making enough money. What a lose/lose proposition that my ego set up: if I overwork, I don’t feel guilty for not working but in order to not feel guilty for not working, I had to work 70-80 hours a week. No matter I hated the job. No matter I had young kids and left them a lot. No matter that although I did make very good money, I didn’t have the positive feelings of self worth or consciousness to be able to feel comfortable with it and so it magically disappeared all the time. It was an addiction.

Self-Improvement & Psychology : Are You in Alignment?
|
| on 2010/6/11 15:40:00 (47 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- "For those who believe no proof is necessary. For those of you who don't believe no proof is possible. -Stuart Chase. Being in alignment with your desires and goals from the inside out will help you to achieve whatever it is you want in life. But, the problem is that most people do the opposite. They have a conscious desire to either find a relationship, get out of debt, lose weight, heal from heartache or whatever the case may be.
But their inner beliefs are what stop them from getting what they desire. For example, let's say you want to meet someone to share your life with. You've put yourself out there but yet you still come up empty handed so to speak. Well, 9 times out of 10 it's because your inner dialogue goes something like this: I really want to meet someone but I'm getting too old, no one will want someone with 3 kids, I've tried but all the good ones are taken, who am I kidding I'm a loser at love and on and on. Or, say you want to lose weight but the only thing you've lost is time wishing you would lose it. Your inner dialogue might be: it's too hard to lose weight, I don't have time to exercise, food is my only pleasure in life, no matter what I do I know I will only gain it back, exercise is too difficult to start now, etc. Now here's the deal, beliefs are thoughts that you tell yourself over and over again whether they are true or not. And, if you continue to believe them and internally repeat them that is exactly what you will create and exactly what you will experience. So, even though you consciously say, I want whatever it is, internally you are not in true alignment with what you desire, therefore, that is why you are still in the same position living your life with what you don't want!
