Insurance : Diabetes and Social Security Disability Insurance - You Might Qualify
|
| on 2010/8/27 12:00:00 (48 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- With the sharp upsurge in the incidence of diabetes, there are many people who suffer from the disease who are wondering if they might qualify for Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) benefits. As with any physical impairment that would qualify a person for SSDI, the criteria focus on how a person is limited in terms of his or her ability to function, or in other words, to work.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) has made an allowance for diabetes sufferers to qualify for SSDI benefits if the applicant can establish that he or she has one of the following conditions related to a diagnosis of diabetes: - Evidence of Neuropathy that must be demonstrated by "significant and persistent disorganization of motor function in two extremities" and must result in a "sustained disturbance of gross and dexterous movements, or gait and station"; or - Acidosis (a blood condition that can cause death or coma) that occurs, on average, no less than once every two months. This condition must be documented by a medical professional; or - Diabetic retinopathy that causes a debilitating loss of sight in one of two eyes. The vision loss must occur in the better of the two eyes.

Insurance : Settling With an Insurance Company: Proceed With Caution
|
| on 2010/8/27 10:00:00 (43 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- Serious car and motor vehicle accidents are rare in most people's lives, and even minor accidents don't happen very often to most people. So people are usually not ready to deal with the overwhelming insurance, financial and medical problems that can happen from car crashes. If you are injured in a bad accident, suddenly you must cope with insurance adjusters, hospital stays, doctor visits and medical bills. These extra burdens cause extra stress just at the time you are trying to heal physically and psychologically from your injuries from the accident.
Most of us generally think that insurance will provide us security and safety if something goes wrong. We often place too much faith in the system, believing that an insurance company will take care of all our bills and be fair with us. In many situations insurance policies can make bad situations better. However, ultimately insurance companies are interested in protecting the bottom line, and often, injured people have to fight with insurers to receive full and fair payment of medical and property losses and damages from car accidents.

Insurance : When Considering Auto Insurance Options, Consumers Should Look Beyond Price
|
| on 2010/8/24 14:00:00 (43 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- Getting a good auto insurance policy means a lot more than finding the one with the cheapest price. Although budgets may be tight, consumers need to take into account what level of service they will be getting, which is not so hard to do with the help of online resources.
Consumers need to remember that even though going with the cheapest insurance company may, luckily, end up being the smartest option, this is not always the case. A cheap policy from an unreliable coverage provider is not worth much in the end. So, once a shopper finds a decently priced auto insurance policy with adequate coverage, it needs to be established that the potential policy issuer is financially sound and has a record of delivering quality service. Shoppers looking for car insurance online are afforded the convenience of being able to easily research this information through the use of a handful of public websites.

Insurance : Squaremouth.com Leaderboard First Half of 2010: Top Carriers Insure Higher Trip Costs, CEO Says
|
| on 2010/8/16 18:00:00 (73 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- Travelers are insuring more expensive trips compared to the first half of 2009. The top travel insurance carriers gained market share with creative pricing. This shifted the Squaremouth sales leaderboard; Travelex, CSA and Travel Insured, respectively, ranked as the best-selling insurers for the first half of 2010.
“The average trip cost rose by $450 in the first half of 2010, however, the average tip length remained constant.” said Chris Harvey, CEO. “The travel insurance carriers capitalizing on this trend offer good value for families or for trips in the very near future.” Both Travelex and Travel Insured offer plans that don’t charge for children. This means good coverage and low premium for families, one reason why both companies have remained near the top of the leaderboard.

(Reriani Communications) --- In this price-driven insurance market, insurance companies, insurance brokers, and insurance agents are finding it more difficult than ever to stand out from their competition. Insurance : Vetfone Prepares for Summertime Calls
|
| on 2010/7/15 9:30:00 (77 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- Vetfone, an animal advice helpline available to M&S Pet Insurance customers, is preparing for its busiest times of the year and getting ready to deal with calls from dog owners whose pets have been injured or become ill because of summertime hazards. In previous years, Vetfone's qualified veterinary nurses, who provide concerned animal lovers with immediate advice on a pet's condition, have reported a large increase in the number of calls from policyholders whose dogs have succumbed to various summer-related hazards. The service provided by the advice line is especially important and has often proved invaluable for M&S Pet Insurance customers, with around 70% of calls being made outside of normal veterinary hours.
The summer months can prove to be especially dangerous to pets for a number of reasons, as the barbeque season really gets underway and the sunny weather encourages owners to get outside and play with their dogs more frequently, not to mention the risks of pets ingesting new seasonal objects they shouldn't, such as poisonous berries or fallen nuts. Vetfone deputy operations manager, Clare Scantlebury, said: "It's lovely for pets and their owners to enjoy being out and about during the summer, but they need to be aware of hidden dangers, which although rare, do cause real problems."

Insurance : Water Damage New York and the State Insurance Department
|
| on 2010/6/29 17:00:00 (63 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- The New York State Insurance Department has issued certain guidelines in order to help them prepare for floods during the hurricane season. One of the main points of the department is to ensure that the insurance policies are reviewed by their holders. This is to ensure the protection of their property and businesses in the event of water damage in New York. Just like in other states such as Florida, Louisiana, and Texas, New York is not spared from the storm season. Thus, residents are encouraged by the local government to get in touch with their insurance agents or company representatives to have their queries answered even before the need arises. In New York, the hurricane season starts in June and lasts until November. It can result in large amounts of property damage so there is a need to ensure proper coverage. Because standard policies do not usually include protection against flood damage, the home or business owner should make the right confirmatory moves.
The New York State Insurance Department enumerates a list of situations to insure against in the event of water damage in New York. These include the partial or total flooding of normally dry land due to the overflow of inland or tidal waters, the rapid and unexpected accumulation of runoff surface waters, and mudslides caused by flood. There should also be insurance in case there is a collapse of the ground along a body of water due to erosion or waves that go beyond the norm in size. Finally damage from sewer backup may also be insured against if it is the direct result of a flooding. There are some insurance companies that accept the purchase of insurance policies that have sewer backup coverage.

Insurance : Trupanion Policyholder Benefits from Pet Insurance Without Payout Limits
|
| on 2010/6/28 7:20:00 (59 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- Trupanion implemented and announced a 'No Payout Limits' change to its policy less than a month ago and has already had a policyholder take advantage of this new benefit. Trupanion’s receipt of a pet insurance claim for skin medication from policyholder Cathy Tunis took the payout on the policy for Madelaine, a French Bulldog, over the former lifetime payout limit of $20,000. Because Trupanion removed this limit, Ms. Tunis is able to continue with the necessary veterinary treatments for her dog without having to worry about costs.
Madelaine (Maddie, for short) has been enrolled with Trupanion (then Vetinsurance) for almost five years, since she was only 6 months old. During this time, she has experienced a profusion of health problems, including bronchitis, skin issues, urinary tract issues, and chronic allergies.

Insurance : Anthem BCBS Honors Bridgeport, Connecticut Father & Son Agency
|
| on 2010/6/26 6:40:00 (77 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Haven, Connecticut recently recognized 17 Connecticut Health Insurance agents as "Premier Partners" for 2010. Two of the agents so honored include the father and son of a small family-owned insurance agency based in Bridgeport, Connecticut, 1800insuranceCT.com LLC. The prospect of purchasing health insurance causes many consumers a lot of frustration and confusion. Some of that may change when the health care reform mandates go into effect. But for now, consumers exploring their options can be faced with a process that is both time consuming and anxiety-ridden.
Small mom and pop insurance agencies often provide great personal service, but are frequently lacking in other areas. The national websites that provide insurance quotes will frequently have a "press 6 to stay on hold a little longer" approach to customer service. Fortunately there are a few small family-owned agencies that have one foot in the twentieth century and the other in the twenty first. They are able to combine old fashioned one-to-one customer service with constantly-updated interactive websites that are on a par with those of their national competitors.

Insurance : Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance Explained
|
| on 2010/6/21 8:40:00 (78 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- AccuQuote, a leader in providing term life insurance quotes to people across the United States, explains guaranteed issue life insurance for consumers who may not qualify for traditional life insurance coverage. Many health conditions prevent consumers from qualifying for fully underwritten, traditional life insurance coverage. However, there are alternative options for these people. Guaranteed issue life insurance is a type of life insurance plan that requires no medical exam. Most people, within a certain age bracket, who apply for this type of coverage can become insured. Guaranteed issue plans make it possible to insure people who would otherwise be considered ‘uninsurable’ by most carriers, according to industry standards.
“Guaranteed issue life insurance is beneficial for those who cannot obtain traditional coverage, however there are limitations,” says Byron Udell, founder and CEO of AccuQuote. “For example, most of these policies have small face values, usually less than $25,000, at a much higher cost. The reason is because these policies are usually designed to cover final expenses, and that’s it.”

Insurance : LV= Discovers Wealthy Young Brits Make Easy Target for Thieves
|
| on 2010/6/19 8:40:00 (84 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- Research from LV= Streetwise has revealed that many young Brits are making themselves easy targets for thieves as 92% of 13-15 year olds carry a mobile phone on them whilst out and about with their friends, 74% carry cash and 42% leave the house with an iPod. The clothes and gadgets carried by the average young teen on Britain's streets are worth GBP246*, singling them out as targets for thieves, while 21% of 5-8 year olds carry a mobile phone** and 17% carry cash when they're out and about with friends.
Many young people carry valuable items like a mobile phone because their parents want to keep them safe. Among 5-15 year olds, as many as 62% said their parents ask them to keep a mobile phone with them. But mums' and dads' attempts to protect their children when they're out on their own may be inadvertently increasing the risk of theft, as 11-16 years olds make up a third of all mugging victims***.

Insurance : Keep Auto Insurance Costs for 16 Year Olds Manageable
|
| on 2010/6/18 14:00:00 (83 reads) |
(Reriani Communications) --- For sixteen year olds, getting a driver's license can be an exciting time; for parents, not so much. This is because of the high cost of auto insurance for these young drivers and although a parent may dread the new expense, automobile coverage will be necessary if the teen is intending on operating a vehicle. Fortunately, there are a few ways to keep the cost somewhat manageable. The premiums charged by insurers are based on the risk that a driver poses while behind the wheel and unfortunately teenagers are statistically shown to be much more likely to be involved in a traffic accident; therefore car insurance for 16 year olds can get a bit expensive. Drivers in their teens are four times more likely to be involved in a traffic accident and a 16 year old is three times more likely than those between the ages of 17 and 19.
Keeping teenage auto insurance rates affordable is best achieved with comparison shopping; each company views teens differently and while some may not be willing to insure them at a reasonable price, shopping around is the only way to get the best rate. Consumers will be surprised how much a premium can vary from one carrier to the next; studies show premiums can differ up to 200% for the same coverage.
